A wall fountain, designed by Bontadiono de Bontadini, which stood just inside Porta San Giorgio (the old city gate, designed by Laparelli, which was replaced in 1632) on the site now occupied by the Francia Buildings. It was relocated by the British in 1870 to the base of St. James Cavalier, facing the ruins of the Royal Opera House and was restored by Din l-Art Helwa in 1986, the first restoration undertaken by this Association. This fountain has been heavily reconstructed with a certain degree of artistic license. It has the coat of arms of Grand Master Wignacourt and of the Order of St. John, below these a radiating sun with the motto OMNIBUS IDEM which means the same to all - the sun is shining for everyone" [link] . It consists of a stone basin into which a head of a lion spouts water [link] and two interlocking sea shells surrounded by a garland of flowers [link] .
